I am back

I am back online.  Unfortunately with no photographs that are up to date.  I am hoping to get this sorted soon but at the moment my camera is not wanting to link to my computer.  Typical eh?

I see that so much has been happening online and so I have lots to read through and search.  Boy am I looking forward to getting back to minis

My hubby bought me a 'vintage Lundby' dollhouse.  My new project.  And it is going to be so much fun as it involves me using a new scale.  16th!!

As soon as I am able to post pictures, I will.  If anyone has one of these houses, please let me know your link to your blog as I would love to see a Lundby house that is full of furniture.

I am off for now to see if I can figure out why my camera is refusing to upload the pictures.  Hopefully I will be back soon.

New Planning

Well, I am back with an update to my planning.  I still use my everyday carry from my previous post, but I noticed that my day to day planning was not going well.  I could keep track of appointments but, suffering with anxiety and depression as I do, I was forgetting some of the smaller every day things.

This is where my Big Ideas planner is coming in.  I bought it ages ago and believed it was undated and so lost about 12 months of use but, I have ordered a 12 month extension pack (undated), some plastic pages and a home planner extension pack.

I love the thickness of the paper.  It is very good quality and due to the number of stickers that are available from Big Ideas and smaller companies such as candycrystal (whose stickers I adore), you can adapt and decorate to make it your own.

Firstly, here are the stickers and blank pages;

This is where the month starts and is where any important dates are written down before the actual planning begins.

Here is where the complete month is laid out in front of you.  I haven't shown the filled in page due to personal details , but it is lovely to write on and personalise with stickers such as the ones in the photograph below.

And here is what one of the week pages looks like blank

This is how one week turned out.  Again, this picture was taken before I filled in any personal information but it shows what I mean about personalising.

I have a feeling that I am going to do a lot of changing around in how I plan and decorate, depending on my mood, what is happening in the week and the time of year, but this is the basic layout for my planning this week.

I hope you enjoyed this quick preview, I will be back again soon with further journaling times.

All Change

I am still doing my Morning Pages every morning, however the book has changed to a Poundshop spiral notebook.  Unfortunately, I dont have any photos of the one I am using at the moment.

However, I also thought I would change the type of notebook I use for my everyday journal.  I have had this one for ages but think I may have bought it from Paperchase.  I bought it because I love the cover.

It is a very glittery cover that doesn't really show much in any of the photographs I have tried taking and has the normal lined pages.

From my point of view, there are two very important downsides to this book.  Firstly, I love using fountain pens for writing with and the paper in this book is no good for fountain pens.  I found a way round this by using different colour ball point pens on each day and added stickers as I have done previously.

The other bad point is the use of stickers in this journal has also meant I have needed to use washi tape down the middle of most of the pages as the binding keeps breaking meaning a lot of the pages I am on now would otherwise be falling out.  This is a picture of the top view as I was trying to show the poor state the binding is in now but not sure how clear it is.  I also have pages where some are sticking out further than others.
That said, I refuse to give up on the book and am determined to continue using it although at the rate that I am writing at the moment it looks like I have another months worth of space left in it.

I also have moved to an everyday carry.
It is a passport size ZLYC I bought off Amazon.  It was quite cheap to buy and I am very impressed by the quality and how much I have been able to fill it without it causing the cover any problems.
This is a top view of my every day carry from the top.  As you can see, I have really filled it up well.  Some of the books used include, a monthly view diary, to do book, goals list book, and notes book along with a craft file and plastic zipper pouch to store some stickers.

I love this as it is at the moment for every day.  It fits well in my handbag and the pen fits snuggly in the elastic and has four different colours.

Well that is all for today, I have lots more to show and discuss so will be back again soon with further photos of some of the planners I use besides these along with all my empty journals waiting for their turn to be used.

Main Books

Well, I am finally back with a couple of photos of just my main books that I use on a daily basis not including my diary I carry in my handbag.

Firstly, I have a patterned cover ring bound notebook that I write in every morning.
I love this book.  I don't have a special pen to write in here, I just use whatever normal biro is to hand.  I call it my 'morning pages'.  It isn't an expensive book and the pages are not very thick but it is just right to use wherever, on a desk or on my lap, whichever I decide at the time.  I adapted the idea from several videos I had seen on YouTube.

When I get up in the morning, I have my coffee and do one or two morning chores then I sit down and write whatever is in my head.  I try and stick to three pages so I don't lose a whole day it is so easy to get carried away.  I won't show the written pages on here because it is very personal.

As you can see, it has normal lined paper and I use it just to clear my head for the day ahead.  I will write about all the things that are bothering me, my priorities for the day and if I have a problem so that I can look at the different options I have to help me through it.

I find my day a lot easier when I have managed to write everything down before I get started on anything further.  To start with I didn't really find any benefit but I have been doing this now since August and definitely find it easier to handle what the days throw at me.

My next book is my day-to-day Journal which I write in the evening before I go to bed.  As I am quite new to the whole journaling process, I have only completed three books so far and am nearing the end of my fourth.

Anyway... here is the cover...
I bought this from WH Smith.  The cover can be removed and used on the next book.  It looks very plain as do the book inserts but, I have plans to work on the covers in the future to personalise them more.

This is what the book inserts look like...
The inserts themselves are only £5 at the moment.  I have a fountain pen that I use to write in and it does not bleed through.  However, I have found that I need to glue two pages together when I use stamps etc because it will show through so, the paper quality is not fantastic but I do enjoy using them.
This is just a simple example of a goals page I tried.  I have not done another taking up two pages since.

Finally, here is my planner...
This is where I keep a note of all birthdays, events, appointments etc for myself.  I suffer with anxiety which is why I also have a plain simple diary that I carry round with me with the same information in.

I bought this planner from Paperchase and it is the second year that I am using it.  I kept the diary pages from the first year so that I can look back at them in years to come but kept the rest of the pages in where they are still relevant.

Welcome

I have no pictures of my many journals as yet as I am just in the process of setting up this new site.

I am pretty new to the whole journal process as I only really started writing in my various planners and journals last November, at the age of 46.  However, since then I have well and truly been hit by the bug, purchasing many stickers, washi tapes, pens, books and stamps to name but a few items.

Over the coming months I am planning on showing some of the journals that I have, a couple completed, some part way through and many blanks I am looking forward to filling.

I have also lost many hours watching how many different people journal on YouTube and am looking forward to seeing many more.  I will start showing some of my journals over the coming days, weeks and months and am looking forward to seeing how my journal style evolves over time.
